DESIGN
The Brief – a silver name necklace with a difference, to feature gemstones and her two children’s initials. The client wanted something different from an initial necklace.
I sketched up various designs and she chose two diamond pendants with star pale green sapphires with the kids’ initials on the back of each pendant. On an elegant silver chain.
MAKING
AT THE JEWELLERY BENCH
At the jewellery bench, I pierced out two diamonds out of silver sheet and soldered on jump rings. Then I added the chain by soldering on links on to the pendant and completing the loop with fastenings. A good clean up, file and sand later, I had a silver necklace ready for its gemstones.
Two stunning sapphires were star set on each pendant, a good clean and polish and the result was a unique sparkling piece.
Then off to my laser engraver to personalise the piece with the children’s initials on the diamond backs.
