THE PROCESS

FROM DESIGN TO FINISHED PIECE
I sketched up different designs for the client to review and we worked together to choose and refine her favourite design.
We settled on 18ct yellow gold for the material. I sourced various gemstone options and the client chose stunning champagne diamonds. The final design was a gold D shape band with 11 star set champagne diamonds.
At the jewellery bench, I started with a 9ct yellow gold wire and cut it to the right length. Annealed it, turned it up on my mandrel in to a ring shape, soldered the ends together, filed and sanded it to smooth perfection. Next, star setting the 11 diamonds in the shank.
Finally a good old polish and voila a starry, sparkly beauty of a ring.
